ZONING CONCERNS

Many neighbors are talking about the fact that there are several zoning violations occurring on many of our streets.  One concern is that there are people using single-family homes as apartments.  It is against zoning regulations to have too many people in one home.

The best thing you can do as a concerned neighbor is to report any law violations to the Fairfax Dept. of Zoning. Please say you are with the Parklawn Civic Association when you call.   Please click here to see how to report a problem.  We need to be informed any time a complaint is made, so that we can keep track of the situation and follow up with zoning as we are meeting with them regularly.

You may also go to this Fairfax County site for further information: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/opa/striketeam/sevenways.htm

Zoning Facts

Mason District is responsible for 22% of the calls to zoning.  We have 34 open cases with zoning - the majority are multi-occupancy dwellings.

8 of our houses are either empty or foreclosed (could be more)

5 of our our homes are McMansions that are uncompleted for over a year.
