WE DID IT! After winning a grant from the Fairfax County Neighborhood Enhancement Program, the PCA applied a portion of the funds to install a new neighborhood entry gateway sign. The sign went up on December 12, 2008, and thus our neighborhood and community now has a prideful identification landmark for the first time in 50 years. This could not have happened without PCA’s Board and members who put in many hours to make this happen. Our thanks go out to:
Thank you to all the others who helped with the Triangle Clean up: Dave Galway, Petra Wine, Mike & Lynette Gates, John Saah, Joanne Martin, Jacque Hill, and everyone who donated time/money to this project.
Sign Dedication Ceremony for Parklawn On Saturday, December 20th at 11:30 we held a celebration at the Braddock Rd. Triangle. Representatives from the County were there and so were the sign makers.
What Neighbors are saying: “That sign is so nice -- I really like it! Finally, our Community has an identity! I've lived in Parklawn for approximately 30 years and I can honestly say that we didn't have any community involvement (other than Neighborhood Watch) until now. We owe it all to you and all those who have volunteered to make Parklawn a better place! It's wonderful and greatly appreciated. Best wishes
to you and yours for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New
Year!”
“Just drove by the

Civic Association rocks....”
“It's beautiful!
